Debunking the Myths: “Trophy Hunting” Weakens Wildlife Species by Targeting the Strongest and Healthiest Individuals

For the second part of our information campaign on “trophy hunting,” we look to tackle the myth suggesting that “trophy hunting weakens wildlife species by targeting the strongest and healthiest individuals.

Hunters and practitioners of sustainable use have the health of wildlife species in mind. Populations of wildlife are maintained using specific management practices, which in turn promotes the long term health and genetic biodiversity of species.

Here, we present the facts surrounding wildlife population health, and the activities of hunters that help support it.
