The resolutions and recommendations address the following issues:

1. Addis Ababa Principles and Guidelines for the Sustainable Use of Biodiversity are now the basis for CIC policy! CIC will strive to play an important role by bringing its experience in the field of wildlife management into the process and by advising the relevant government bodies and stakeholders during the implementation of the Principles and Guidelines.

2. EU Decision Threatens Romanian Brown Bear Survival as the ban to import brown bear trophies jeopardizes the conservation of this important species as it cuts off the financial basis for its conservation. In view of the favorable conservation status of the brown bear in Romania with over 5.000 specimen – the highest density per area in Europe - the CIC calls the EU to withdraw the import ban.

3. Management of Deer and Chamois and Their Habitats through Selective Hunting: this paper calls for the withdrawal of the stop of hunt during mating season, as such stop interferes with the proper management of deer and chamois.

4. Conservation of Giant Sable in Angola: a burning issue as this species is being threatened by extinction. All the CIC member states and individuals are requested to assist the Tropical Game Commission of the CIC in supporting Angola to further investigate the status of this animal in Malange province and to concretely engage in wildlife conservation efforts in that region.

5. Overfishing, which threatens terrestrial mammals in Western Africa as people there preferably meet their protein demand by consuming fish and, if not available, from game. CIC points at the direct relation between overfishing and a decrease in wildlife.

6. Mortality in migratory birds: CIC insists on the need to improve knowledge about the conservation status of huntable migratory bird populations and calls upon government authorities to estimate other sources of mortality of migratory birds related to the development of human activities.

7. Hunting with Hounds: CIC requests an update of information and official statements in order to bring the attention of governments to the rightfulness of this time-honored tradition.
