CIC Photo Prizes 2006

“Migratory Birds and Wildlife”

More than 160 photos had been sent in for the International Competition on Wildlife Photography 2006 of the CIC.

Following the first selection, which took place in February in Paris, the best photographs were exhibited at the occasion of the 53rd CIC General Assembly from 1 to 5 May 2006 in Limassol, Cyprus.

An international jury, chaired by Mr. Pélage de Coniac, President of the Wildlife Photography Commission of the CIC, made the final decision and presented the winner photographs to the General Assembly at its Closing Session on 5 May.

6 artists coming from 6 different countries have been awarded, as follows:

CIC PRIZE: Mr. Hannu HUTTU (Finland)

TURRETINI PRIZE:  Mr. S. GUILLERAULT (France)

ACTION PRIZE:  Mr. Claus BENNER (Germany)

RARITY PRIZE:  Mr. Eugčne REITER (Luxembourg)

ORIGINALITY PRIZE:  Mr. E. BOSTEELS (Belgium)

SPECIAL PRIZE:  Mr. Kazimierz PANSZCZYK (Poland)

We hereby congratulate all the winners and participants of the competition!

The slides and paper prints (format 13 x 18 cm or 9 x 12 cm) will be retained by the CIC. The enlarged photographs mounted on cardboard will be returned to the photographers within a three months' delay following the General Assembly, except for the awarded photographs that will remain the property of the CIC.

The prizewinner photos will be featured on this website later on and will also appear in the next issue of the CIC Newsletter. The originals will be donated to the Permanent CIC Museum in Palarikovo, Slovakia.
