The Commission's annual meeting took place on Friday, 25 May 2008 at Marrakech under the Presidency of Pélage de Coniac.

 

The President excuses himself for not having done anything since the meeting 2 years ago due to duties elsewhere. The President furthermore states that he intends to step down.

 

The President informs that a competition on Wildlife Photography will be organised in 2009 during the General Assembly of the CIC at Paris. He also proposes to do the necessary organising work in Paris.

 

A discussion takes place on the problem of copyright on photos. The President was not aware of changes since the Commission's meeting 2 years ago. Vice-President Van Vredenburch states he will further investigate this problem with the Legal Advisors of the CIC. The competition rules will be adapted according to the result of this investigation and the definite wish of the meeting is that participating photos must be freely available for use by the CIC.

 

Proposed theme for the next competition: "Mammal Predators in their Habitats".

 

Alain Veluire of France is elected as Vice-President as replacement of Yves Lemauviel and Jhr Jan-Maarten van Vredenburch is elected as new Commission President.
