Last Friday, the CIC Director General Tamas Marghescu attended the launch of a book authored by Deputy Prime Minister of Hungary, H.E. Dr. Zsolt Semjén, at the Hungarian Embassy in Bucharest, Romania.

The book in question is the Romanian language version of “Hunting Chose Me,” which was originally published at Hungary’s “One with Nature – World of Hunting and Nature” exhibition in Budapest last year.

Other prominent figures in attendance included Árpád Sárkány (CIC Vice President), H.E. Botond Zákonyi (Ambassador of Hungary to Romania), Ilie Sarbu (former Romanian Minister for Agriculture & former CIC Vice President) and Tamás Sándor (President of the Regional Council of Kovászna).

As part of the launch, Dr. Semjén spoke about the importance of hunting in today’s world.

Without sustainable hunting there cannot exist sustainable agriculture, forestry or even nature conservation…If our ancestors would have not been successful hunters, we would not exist today.”

The CIC extends its congratulations to Dr. Semjén for his achievement and for spreading the word on the critical role that sustainable hunting plays in modern wildlife management.
